Since dump trucks displace a lot of oil when the cylinder is at full extension I suggest using a hydraulic oil that has good demulsibility properties. Since a lot of air will be entering and leaving the sump tank condensation can be a problem.

May 18, 2011 · This issue may be as simple as the line going to the Ram leaking or it could be the seal at the top where the cylinder comes out leaking. It seems as if it is spewing a little hydraulic fluid when the bed is lowered and then it stops spewing drips then stops leaking all together. The control vavle is certainly leaking where I mentioned before.

Jul 19, 2011 · To bleed a dump body correctly whether it's a dump truck or dump trailer is to raise the body fully, then lower it to within 6" of lowered. Hold the body at this position while bleeding the air off at the top of the cylinder. This way you've raised the cylinder fully and allowed the air to get trapped in the last stage of the cylinder.
