Apr 8, 2005 · Yes, scissor lifts are weakest when closed. Typically they need a larger diameter cylinder for the same capacity of a telescoping cylinder dump. Load the dump bed more to the rear to help it lift. The geometry of the scissor determines the leverage it's cylinder can use to open the mechanism & dump.

May 10, 2020 · If so try lowering the bed with the PTO turned off The PTO automatically shut off when you go to lower the box. I don't personally drive this truck, I just own it but when I just got in it and went to lower the box the control box where the level is I hear a small air leak/hissing and I'm guessing that's the actuator you're talking about ?

Jul 6, 2007 · I was at the dump today, pull the tarp off the trailer, open the tailgate, push the button and watch the dump bed raise all the way to the top, drive the truck forward tell I clear the load, check that everything is out, then I push the button to lower the bed – nothing happens! OK that's odd, push the button again, still nothing.

May 10, 2020 · I would start by checking out that the linkages between the cab controls and that valve are not worn causing excessive slack in the linkage. Excessive slack in the linkage could cause the valve to not fully move to the return position, which means it is only partially opening the return port inside that bypasses the pumping gears.

Apr 5, 2013 · To adjust the speed the bed raises at requires either a slower drive PTO input, or smaller pump. Basically the fluid movement needs slowed down. A slow raising bed is much safer to operate than a fast one. It kinda depends on operator preference but a heavy load with the possibility of becomming "off center" during the raise is dangerous at best.

Feb 6, 2021 · Once I just put the truck back in gear, drove it forward about 5 foot, then backed it up and stomped on the brake to shake some of the weight off, and after I did that and tried to raise the bed it started raising. But every time it goes up it is extremely slow. Even if I raise the RPMs to an ungodly amount, the bed still raises so slow.

Sep 5, 2007 · Usually the reason for 2 hoses to a dump bed cylinder that lowers by gravity is to use the rod end of the cylinder as a reservoir for fluid. If this is done, the main reservoir only needs to be large enough to contain the ammount of fluid the rod would displace on a fully closed cylinder (pretty small ammount).
